Meet our Board Officers

Dave Hadacek is a strong advocate on behalf of people with developmental disabilities.  He is currently serving his fourth seven-year term on the San Diego Regional Center Board of Directors.  During his time on the Board, Mr. Hadacek has served as Chair of the Board, Board Treasurer, and Chair of the Finance Committee, and he chaired the Strategic Planning and the Nominating and Bylaws Committees. Currently, Mr. Hadacek serves as Board Chair.  

 

Mr. Hadacek lives in North San Diego County and has a daughter who is served by SDRC.

Tessie Bradshaw
Board Vice-Chair

Tessie Bradshaw has a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science. She formerly worked for 19 years at the Exceptional Family Resource Center as a family support liaison, training specialist, and support group facilitator. Ms. Bradshaw has experience as a member of the Coronado Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and Co-Chair of the San Diego Fiesta Educativa. Ms. Bradshaw is bilingual in Spanish and English and has experience presenting, translating, and interpreting. Ms. Bradshaw has a son with special needs who is served by the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC).

Tessie currently resides with her family in Coronado, CA.

Virginia Bayer
Board Secretary

Virginia Callaghan Bayer is a retired Naval Officer and the mother of four children, three of whom are currently serving on active duty. She has served on the Special Education Parents Advisory Council of Coronado, the Coronado Woman’s Club, and the Camp Able Board of Directors. Mrs. Bayer has demonstrated experience in Board Governance serving on the Board of Directors for Father Joe’s Villages since 2015 and serving on their Executive Committee as Secretary.  Mrs. Bayer is a member of the Coronado Rotary Club, National Defense Industrial Association, Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association, Navy League, and the Military Officers Association of America.  She brings with her more than 35 years of leadership and program management experience. She is keenly attuned and very interested in serving the clients who are military exceptional family members and their families. 

Ms. Bayer lives in central San Diego County and has a daughter with special needs who is served by the San Diego Regional Center. Her daughter attends Saint Madeliene Sophie Center Day Program and is a member of the National Organization for Disorders of the Corpus Callosum. The entire family participates in Open Hearts at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Coronado.

Matthew Storey
Board Treasurer

Matthew Storey is a special education and civil rights attorney in San Diego and practices throughout California. He has extensive knowledge and understanding of federal and state legal obligations specifically for children under the age of 22, and has provided training to SDRC staff and families in educational advocacy.

Mr. Storey has served as a Board Member of Children’s Legal Services, a non-profit agency that advocates on behalf of children and youth who are the subject of abuse and neglect proceedings in San Diego. Mr. Storey has a brother who receives services through the SDRC.

Matthew currently resides in Chula Vista.

Terri Colachis

Board ARCA Representative

Terri Colachis has more than 35 years of strategic marketing and communications experience in the hospitality industry.  Ms. Colachis currently serves as ARCA Representative on the SDRC Board of Directors and Chairs the Audit Committee. Ms. Colachis is also a member of the Legislation Committee. Ms. Colachis also serves as the Chair of the 211 San Diego Board of Directors and previously served on the Board of Directors for Promises to Kids, TERI (Training Education & Research Institute) Inc., and North County San Diego (NCSD) Convention and Visitors Bureau. 

Ms. Colachis was the Owner and Principal of ARC Consultants, a consulting firm offering strategic marketing and operational consulting services to the hospitality, golf, and real estate industries. Prior to ARC Consultants, Ms. Colachis served as Principal and Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Cobblestone Golf Group. Ms. Colachis helped to grow the start-up golf company from four local golf properties to more than 56 private, semi-private, and public golf properties in the United States, ultimately becoming the third largest golf ownership company in the country. Ms. Colachis also served as the Director of Marketing and Communications at JC Resorts, managing all marketing and communications for the four resort and five golf course properties in the company portfolio. 

Ms. Colachis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Ms. Colachis is passionately dedicated to advocating for developmentally disabled children in the community. In 2017, Ms. Colachis was honored as the 2017 Woman of the Year of the 77th Assembly District in recognition of her dedication and volunteer work. Ms. Colachis has three daughters and resides in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

Norma Ramos

Immediate Past Chair

Norma Ramos served as Board Chair for two years and chaired the Nominating and Bylaws Committee and the Legislation Committee during her tenure on the board. 
Ms. Ramos served as a promotora in a volunteer capacity through the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC). She has experience providing advocacy support to Spanish-speaking SDRC clients and their families. 


Ms. Ramos has a B.A. in International Business from San Diego State University, with an emphasis in Spanish and Latin America and a specialization in Marketing. Ms. Ramos is an alumnus of the San Diego Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (San Diego LEND), which is administered through UC San Diego and is part of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD). 


The California Health and Human Services Secretary appointed her to the Master Plan for Developmental Services Committee. Ms. Ramos transitioned from a 20-year corporate career in management for the AT&T Office of the President to be the primary caregiver to her son, who is served by SDRC. 


Ms. Ramos and her family reside in Chula Vista.

Chris Hodge
Board Member at Large

Chris Hodge is a parent of a son who has cerebral palsy and hearing issues.  Mr. Hodge’s son is served by the San Diego Regional Center.   Mr. Hodge has been followed by the San Diego Regional Center, through the public school, and through CCS.  Mr. Hodge is very interested in following legislation, the Early Start program and development of services to the growing population of autism.  Mr. Hodge is a manager of Common Interest Developments (CIDS).  

Chris and his family currently reside in Escondido.
