The Community Services Department serves as the link between the Corporation and the community in the areas of public information, community education, needs assessment, resource development and evaluation of community programs which provide services to people with developmental disabilities.
The Community Services Department is responsible for needs assessment and resource development. All requests for vendorization of residential and other providers are processed by the staff in Community Services. Ongoing support is also available for vendors.
Additionally, the Community Services Department coordinates speakers for groups, publishes brochures and other information about San Diego Regional Center, produces the agency newsletter and maintains the agency’s website. The Community Services Department coordinates education training programs for parents, providers (vendors) and the community, as well as maintains a video/DVD lending library. Contacts with the media are handled through the Community Services Department. Volunteers who work for the Corporation are also processed through Community Services.
Staff in the Community Services Department include the Community Services Director, Residential Services Manager, Transportation Manager, Resource Coordinators, Public Information/Training/Volunteer Coordinator, Assistant Transportation Coordinator and support staff.
