Resources
Most communities have a variety of agencies, both public and private that offer services to the people in their community. San Diego and Imperial Counties have a large number of these agencies that we refer to as "generic resources". Generic resources are resources that exist in the community to help any resident of the community with many issues. These resources are also available to persons with disabilities. Persons with developmental disabilities and their families often need access to many services in order to lead healthy, active lives. SDRC can help locate generic services for consumers and their families. One example of a generic resource would be the Medi-Cal Program. This program is California's health care insurance program for people who meet income guidelines. People with developmental disabilities can also make use of this program. The resource list is provided to assist you in locating generic resources.
