Volunteer Information

A Volunteer is someone who donates hours of service to an agency with no monetary compensation. Benefits of volunteering include the personal reward gained from being of service, learning new skills, making a difference in the community and in the lives of others, and more.

SDRC actively recruits people from the community who are interested in volunteering their time and talents to the Regional Center to enhance the services we provide and help improve the lives of persons with developmental disabilities.

To volunteer, you must be at least 16 years old, complete an application form, submit to a background check (if required) and be available to volunteer during daytime, weekday hours.

Currently, the only volunteer position available is assisting in our Resource Room/Library. Volunteers are needed to shelve books and videos/dvd's, follow-up with those who have not returned items by the due date, organize, etc. This position has very little, if any, consumer contact.

We could really use your help, knowledge, skills and time.
